WHAT?

An investigation is examining whether DraftKings offered event-based contracts on sports outcomes through its Prediction Market platform in states where it may not have been authorized.

These contracts allow users to predict outcomes and receive a return depending on the result. Investigators are examining whether this platform may function similarly to sports wagering in states where DraftKings may not hold the required authorization.
