FloatMe promotes itself as a fee-free way to access small cash advances. But many users pay instant delivery fees to get money within minutes or hours — plus a monthly Connection fee in months when they receive a float.

On small, short-term advances, those charges act like a high effective interest rate, contradicting FloatMe’s “0% APR/no-interest” promise.

We allege these practices are unfair and deceptive under state consumer-protection laws, and in some cases may violate federal truth-in-lending and electronic transfer rules when fees function as finance charges or debits occur after consent is withdrawn.

Consumers are seeking refunds of all Instant fees and membership fees, reimbursement of any overdraft or NSF spillover, and changes to make the free path the true default — with clear disclosures and no pressure prompts.
